Our initial impressions about the Nikon Z5 were correct–this is a high-quality camera that achieves an unprecedented value, for both its image quality, autofocus, and physical quality, even. Leading all cameras. And it's a dead-end system. I used mainly landscape images at higher F-stops. Canons ef-m mount Will be a dead end for those that want to upgrade but fullformat is a pretty small segment so for most buyers it Will not be a problem. wouldn't your finger just go up your nose? Bad decision in my opinion. I recall a magazine for professional photographers stating in their review of the EOS D60 that 6mp was adequate for a full magazine A3 spread. It's a really solid camera with no real red flags or major shortcomings. I really would like it (in fact i have it, for a special purpose) but the battery is a k.o. Of course if you are already in A mode, then the Nikon is faster to change in only one step. I really do not think that the INTENTION of nikon is not to compete with canon m6ii and fujifilm X-t30. You don't need to spend a fortune to buy a camera that's designed for videography. The Nikon Z50 is an excellent, well-balanced, and versatile camera. However, finding adaptors for less popular mounts might be troublesome because of the novelty of the Z system. A DSLR is much lighter with lenses than a Sony or Nikon Z camera... And the Z lenses are without image stabilization and even more expensive... For what reason should the customer pay 300USD (outside of the USA) for the Z mount... when they deliver the wrong lenses for their cameras.. Nikon is punishing as usual their customer and the customer don't buy anymore Nikon!!! This basically renders wide-angle shooting impossible. Seems like a really nice camera for that price. Thanks to the stepping motors inside the kit lenses and other Z lenses, autofocus action was completely unnoticeable, with no noise or vibration at all. So in general, it is not a class leading camera but I like it and have obtained good results. Canon did have adopters on M mount for long but their cameras are hardly exciting. And likewise on the Fuji if the switch on the lens is already set to aperture (not auto) then it is also a one step process. Usable 8k ISO, and I rarely need to flash. It is also only $300 cheaper than the Z50 with 105mm macro lens, or the Sony a6400, both of which will give better optics and better image quality (though in the case of … Form factor, ergonomics, and performance of the Z50 with the 16-50mm is unmatched IMO. There is no excessive colour noise until ISO 25600. The Z50 sensor has worse low light performance due to the physical changes made to the sensor to allow for a form of phase detect, while not improving SNR over the D7500, on top of that they then go and use a kit lens that has a smaller aperture. With more compact lenses om pretty sure nikon Will sell alot z50s. Memorycard prices on the newer cards Will drop in price and only profesionell photographers or those who shoot 4k video needs 4x32gb memorycards so that Will not be a problem for the majority of the z50 byers, Last sentence was meant to be that most z6 And z7 buyers will not need 128gb of memory cards cause im pretty sure most are amateurs that shoot stills, Other Z lenses are a Joke? As we continue to test Nikon's update of its multimedia full-framer, we've added more of our findings so far on image quality, dynamic range and video quality. And we can find lots of adapters for any system, but maybe there should be an article on the topic, to address the pros and cons for each mount. I ended up adding the 50-250mm "kit" lense and carrying it with me when we walk the dogs. Read the conclusion, it explains exactly why the Z 50 received the silver rather than gold award. lol... You are wrong: the z50 does support HSS up to 1/4000 of a second, according to Nikon's own spec page. I have seen far nicer/smoother results from Nikon D500 shooters. I agree with johans81, EF-M is perfect at its price point, size and weight, etc... an APS-C camera with RF mount means developing what's already there, it can't be as small as a M100/M200, they need to make money with it but not harm FF camera sales, it would be complicated...
